About me

Mahmood S. Ashek is the Solution Architect for IBM Mobile Applications Practice at Toronto Innovation Centre, responsible for design and development of interactive mobile and web experiences based on emerging technologies. Currently, Mahmood is architecting IBM’s go-to-market business applications for mobile devices, as well as providing user experience consulting for web 2.0 applications. His areas of expertise include sales, marketing, design and development of mobile, web, kiosk, portal, and RFID solutions.

Mahmood is a Computer Engineering graduate, with distinction, from the University of Waterloo. He enjoys being an early adopter for new innovations and likes to work for global projects and teams. He was a feature speaker in many conferences and was interviewed by Wired magazine about his thoughts on emerging mobile technologies and IBM’s mobile initiatives. Mahmood is also the co-chair for IBM Mobile 2.0 Community and IBM Canada Innovation Team. His skills and passions have earned him yearly ‘Top Performer’ ratings at IBM and various awards including IBM Equity Award.
